Maintainer Requirements

Interested in bringing LumineDroid to your device officially? We are always looking for passionate maintainers who share our vision of a clean and stable Android experience.

General Requirements

Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:

  1. Ownership: You must own the device you wish to maintain.
  2. Source Code: All device-specific sources (Device Tree, Kernel, Vendor) must be public on GitHub.
  3. Kernel Source: Your kernel source must be up-to-date with the latest security patches and properly documented.
  4. Stability: Your builds must be stable for daily use. Core features (RIL, WiFi, Bluetooth, Camera, Fingerprint, etc.) must work perfectly.
  5. SELinux: SELinux MUST be set to Enforcing. Permissive builds will not be accepted.
  6. Track Record: You should have a history of providing unofficial builds and supporting your device's community.

Responsibilities

As an official maintainer, you are expected to:

  • Regular Updates: Provide monthly builds following the release of Android Security Bulletins (ASB).
  • Bug Fixes: Actively track and fix device-specific issues reported by the community.
  • Support: Maintain a support group (e.g., Telegram) for your device users.
  • Collaboration: Work with the core team to ensure the best possible experience for LumineDroid users.

How to Apply

If you meet all the requirements above, you can start the application process via our official Telegram bot:

  1. Open Telegram: Search for @LumineDroidBot.
  2. Start the Bot: Press the Start button or type /start.
  3. Apply: Type the command /apply.
  4. Fill the Form: Follow the instructions provided by the bot and fill in all the required information accurately.

Our leads will review your application and get back to you via Telegram if you qualify.

BRINGUP & UNOFFICIAL BUILDS

Before applying officially, you must have already brought up the device tree for LumineDroid and released at least two stable unofficial builds to prove the stability and your commitment to the device.

Make sure your bringup follows the LumineDroid Bringup.
